I am trying to get 300-400 hp (just for novelty purposes) under the hood of a 64 Chevy II SS. Can this be accomplished with a in line 6. without NOS. It is a SS but factory 6 cylinder. I do not want to change all of the coil springs and crap to put in a v-8. (this would have to be done. Right?) This is going to be my week end, play car. I also dont care what i have to do to get it..(get the hp) bore, stroke, cam, fuel injection.. What ever. Any ideas...? Thanks Daniel

Well if your trying to get that much H.P. from a 6 then be prepaired for inovation. I am working on a ford 6 that I am going to turbo charge. I have a 67 Mustang with a 6 and I am going to dare to be different. But I am using a newer model 6 because the block is a lot stronger and I am going from a 200 cid to a 250 cid........Trust me I am going to do some serious fabrication
Also try http://cliffordperformance.net
yes- supercharged or turbocharged. and lots of money.
it would prolly be cheaper to v-8 swap it.
cam, head, intake, etc will have to be custom done because it's an out of the norm motor to hop up.
not as much as you can get out of a 4-cylinder engine. I have read the ecotech engine 2.0L got over 700+ hp on the dyno with no load.
