I have an acura integra?

i have an 1991 acura integra..how can i make this car lower to the ground..do i need to change the springs?I have an acura integra?
When tackling any job of this magnatude, you should first invest in a quality automotive manual that will show you all the details of your car. The best manual for the Integra comes from www.helminc.com. They are spendy but worth every penny. Not many people will pony up $100 for their car's service manual but I'm here to tell you they are worth their weight in gold!

Ok, lowering your car... you have to understand that the car is held off the ground by the suspension system. Without the springs, the car would merely plop down on it's belly and go nowhere. Add a seriously strong spring to each wheel and you lift the vehicle up by an amount designed into each spring providing a set height. The struts and/or shock absorbing components of the suspension merely keep you from bouncing all over the place on nothing but springs. Both are necessary to keep you stable on the road.

So, lowering your car you must take a few things into consideration... Yes, of course you will need new springs... lower ones. Good ones are adjustable allowing for changes in height after they are installed. Of course, an adjustable system is more expensive than just buying a lower spring for a set height reduction.

Another consideration is the travel each shock absorber or strut used to have. When you lower the car, you change the travel of each shock or strut as well. If each one was designed with a 6 inch travel, you might be limiting that travel to 4'; etc. When you reach the limit of the strut or shock absorber, you bottom out your suspension even though the car doesn't hit bottom. You will still feel the impact of metal on metal or at least metal on rubber bumper that's provided to cushion such impacts. Jolting to say the least and damaging to the car.

Another consideration is the wheel alignment... They sell camber kits that allow the camber to be adjusted when people lower their car beyond the limits of the designed in caster. When the wheel alignment cannot be maintained, you will find you are wearing out tires much faster and that simply sucks dollars out of your wallet replacing tires all the time.

Lowering your car looks cool but it must be done right for many reasons... many tires are designed to just fit in the wheel well. Lower the body and you might find yourself rubbing the tires against the fenders when you turn or hit a bump or both. Springs might have to be firmer to keep the wheels from hitting anything and that will affect ride comfort. Lowering does lower the center of gravity though so cornering should improve but only if done right and there is lots to think about before just lowering the car and hoping for the best. Look into heavily and don't cut corners. You will be happy you did!

Good luck!I have an acura integra?
im in the prossess right now on my 95 gsr. i got some ebay lowering springs very easy to do the front then the back bottom shock bolts broke so now i have to find a way to get them out anyway its ez just by some springs and rent a spring compressor from autozone or something. then its very easy from there on out.
yeah buy ebay springs they are cheap hahaha, you dont need a spring compressor i just set up a pad on the bush and take the struts apart and watch it explode and collect the peices, very easy.
get coilovers

very cheap and is a ok!

it will kill your shocks if you want this, I have them and my shocks are dead but i dont care! Im a very good driver so i dont need to replace my shocks!
Honestly don't buy ebay springs they suck. Buy a name brand you can get a good set of coilovers for 100 to 120 and you can adjust them of ots to low or to high.
