In what ways have ';times changed'; from the spring of 2008 that have led to a change in H. Clinton's and Obamas?

departure from their promises to get tough with China on currency manipulation? Hillary said times had changed so they had to do it differently than they had promised on the campaign trail. How, people, how have times changed in these 8 or 9 months?In what ways have ';times changed'; from the spring of 2008 that have led to a change in H. Clinton's and Obamas?
Six years ago Star Parker wrote a book called ';Uncle Sam's Plantation.'; she wrote the book to tell her own story of what she saw living inside the welfare state and her own transformation out of it.

A benevolent Uncle Sam welcomed mostly poor black Americans onto the government plantation. Those who accepted the invitation switched mindsets from ';How do I take care of myself?'; to ';What do I have to do to stay on the plantation?';

Instead of solving economic problems, government welfare socialism created monstrous moral and spiritual problems. The kind of problems that are inevitable when individuals turn responsibility for their lives over to others.

The legacy of American socialism is our blighted inner cities, dysfunctional inner city schools, and broken black families.

Perhaps more incredibly, Obama seems to think that government taking over an economy is a new idea. Or that massive growth in government can take place ';with unprecedented transparency and accountability.';

Yes, sir, we heard it from Jimmy Carter when he created the Department of Energy, the Synfuels Corporation, and the Department of Education.

Or how about the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 -- The War on Poverty -- which President Johnson said ';...does not merely expand old programs or improve what is already being done. It charts a new course. It strikes at the causes, not just the consequences of poverty.';

Trillions of dollars later, black poverty is the same. But black families are not, with triple the incidence of single parent homes and out of wedlock births.

It's not complicated. Americans can accept Barack Obama's invitation to move onto the plantation. Or they can choose personal responsibility and freedom.In what ways have ';times changed'; from the spring of 2008 that have led to a change in H. Clinton's and Obamas?
I don't remember any ';get tough on China'; policies. The US isn't in charge of China and we're not going to be.

Though one would imagine that the current global economy crisis would constitute a change in times...
Dealing with new situations people always seem difference, and news is more popular (i.e. can charge for for soda commercials) if they accent these appearances, and create a few ot their own.
Since when do you believe what the Clinton's say about China being they accepted several Million from China for campaign contributions during Bills time in office.
Times aren't changing, except for the billions going to wall street and pet projects.

- We still have the Pariot Act

- Obama is holding prisoners on the ';war on terror'; in Afghanistan and has no plans to give them trials

- We still have troops in Iraq and will for his term

- We still have partisan grid lock

I guess we got change, but not the change anyone was expecting
bring china to a court of laws?

and you need evidence

without evidence

currency manipulation

is just a baseless assertion
