Does changing coil springs make a difference in the smoothness of cars ride?

I have a 2001 Lexus IS300. Im trying to get that smooth tight ride back... I was told getting new shocks would do the trick. A friend changed the bushings *sp* on his 2001 BMW 330 and the car rides like new. Any advice on how to achieve this would be greatly appreciated.Does changing coil springs make a difference in the smoothness of cars ride?
its tires shocks struts most likely bad not springs Does changing coil springs make a difference in the smoothness of cars ride?
NO idea sorry kiddo. Best bet would be to go into the local mechanics or tyre/suspension place and have a chat with them. BTW, have you checked the tyre pressure lately? That can affect the handling and smoothness quite substantially.
change the bushing get new shocks/ struts and springs combo or u can go with coil overs the will be a bit stiffer than jsut springs. i would also go with new swaybars front and back.... make u car more tight around the corners
