A mattress contains springs:

(a) A manufacturer makes mattress that sags less in the middle when a person lies on it. Suggest two ways of doing this? (2 marks)



(b) How do the springs change when the person lies on the bed?

(2 marks)



(c) One force acting on the person is the upward push of the springs. Name another? ( 2 marks)

(a) One way is to make a mattress filled with water.



Second way is to make a mattress filled with air.



(b) When a person is sleeping on the bed the spring experiances 2 kinds of action one is Compression and another is Decompression.



(c) The other force(opposing force) is the downward force called as gravity.
