How do you do an IFS to axel leaf spring change over, on a 1994 montero sr?

i have chevy 1 ton axels that i want to swap. any plans or help? How do you do an IFS to axel leaf spring change over, on a 1994 montero sr?
Why would you want put put a chevy 1 ton under there?

The stock setup is already capable of running 37's w/out upgrading the axle diff and that's for off road conditions not posing. Here's a 94SR on 37's that ran the Dusy Ersham trail this past summer...

If you're truly serious then break out the welder and cutting torches.

You'd do it like any other IFS to solid front axle conversion.

First you'll need to make sure you get an axle with the pumpkin on the correct side. IIRC that would be the driver side.

Next it has to have the correct ring and pinion gear ratio. IIRC the stock ratio is 4.635 and there's an option for 4.90's.

As for what leafs to use? Well that's up to you.

If you're serious about doing this then check out 4x4wire.com's Mitsu Tech forums for help. We have owners there who are doing some pretty extreme things like full on solid axle swaps (using D44 axles), engine swaps, dual xcase setups, etc.

HTH.
